Andrzej Lech: Travel Journal, New Jersey

April 6 - July 9, 2006
The Majestic Condominium Lobby
222 Montgomery Street, Jersey City

His love for the landscape permeates Andrzej Jerzy Lech’s work. The artist was born and raised in Wroclaw, Poland and has lived in Jersey City for many years. Andrzej studied fine art photography at the School of Visual Arts in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Through his tireless study of photographic printing processes, Andrzej has created an entire body of work in sepia-toned imagery that evokes nostalgia and acknowledges the golden age of photography. For years, he has also used the pinhole technique, creating images of haunting beauty. What we admire most about Mr. Lech’s work is his love for the New Jersey landscape, even those places that have been forsaken or abandoned.

Jersey City Museum is pleased to present a well-deserved solo exhibition of the work of this artist at the Majestic Theater Condominiums. This exhibition is part of a series of exhibitions planned specifically for this space and that will feature local talent .
